3-1
3 SNAX/XF Primary Lines
SNAX/XF primary lines control and serve attached SNA peripheral nodes (SNA type
2.0 nodes). Connections between the NonStop node and SNA peripheral nodes can be
point-to-point or multipoint. Applications on a NonStop system can use the CRT, ITI,
PRT, SNALU, or SNAX/HLS APIs.
The rest of this section is structured as follows:
Configuring SNAX/XF primary lines
Configuring for LU accept
Configuring CNM applications
Configuring SNAX/XF Primary Lines
This subsection provides configuration examples for various types of primary line:
Primary SDLC Line
Figure 3-1 on page 3-2 shows an example of a nonswitched SDLC line connecting an
SNA cluster controller that has two IBM 3278 devices. The SCF configuration, shown
alongside, configures the SNAX/XF LINE, PU, and LU objects. One device is
configured for line-at-a-time mode (ITI) and one for block mode (CRT).
Notes.
1. A SNAX/XF line is configured as primary and nonswitched by default.
2. On SNAX/XF primary lines, the PU and LU objects represent PUs and LUs in the attached
SNA peripheral nodes.
3. You should have performed Tasks 1 through 3 of the Configuration Quick Start
on
page 1-1.
4. The examples assume you use the SNAX default BIND image. If you require custom
BINDs, see Appendix B, SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN BINDs
