In addition, SNA host applications may be configured optionally as LUNS applications
(through ESS table entries). This type of configuration is called LUNS passthrough.
LUNS passthrough allows SNA devices to switch transparently between SNA host
applications and HP LUNS applications and provides other benefits, such as character-
coded logons and menu displays.
Remote passthrough can occur between SNA peripheral nodes attached to one P
system and an SNA host attached to a separate NonStop system. SNAX/XF must be
running on both systems and the SNAX service managers both must be named
$SSCP.
