Configuring LUNS Passthrough
Configuring LUNS Passthrough
As mentioned earlier, SNA host applications may be configured as LUNS applications
(through ESS table entries) optionally. This type of configuration is called LUNS
passthrough.
Figure 5-3 on page 5-6 shows an example of LUNS passthrough. The normal
passthrough configuration is required. In addition, an ESS table and SET table are
required. The SNAXUTL configuration, shown alongside, defines an ESS table
(ESSTAB1) with various types of entries and adds it to a SET table. The SNAX/XF
SCF configuration defines the SET table to the subsystem.
Notes.
1. Secondary LINE objects must have STATION SECONDARY and APPLID (containing host
applications you want to access from the NonStop system)
2. Passthrough LU objects must have the following attributes:
PROTOCOL SNALU
PASSTHRU ON
ASSOCIATE (if associated or static passthrough required)
STATIC ON (if static passthrough required)
3. After configuring SNAX/XF, you must still configure the gateway lines, PUs, and LUs to
VTAM, NCP, and NPSI (X.25 lines) and activate these resources from VTAM. For further
information, see Section 4, SNAX/XF Secondary Lines
.
4. For details of the SCF attributes for SNAX/XF, see the SCF Reference Manual for
SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN.
