Subsystem Processes That Send Event Messages
Subsystem Processes That Send Event Messages
Not all event messages received by a management application come from SNAX/XF
and SNAX/APN. SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN generate event messages for events that
involve the objects under their control. The Subsystem Control Point (SCP) reports
events when SPI messages fail or upon an internal failure of SPI. The event messages
issued by SCP are described in the SPI Common Extensions Manual.
Event messages issued by SCP contain the subsystem ID of SCP; those issued by the
SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN contain the subsystem ID that is common to both. This
subsystem ID is described in Section 2, Standard Definitions
. The subsystem ID of SCP
is described in the SPI Common Extensions Manual. For general information about
subsystem IDs, refer to the SPI Programming Manual.
Event messages issued by the SNAX/XF and SNAX/XF subsystems are generated by
the service-manager process. The actual source of each event within SNAX/XF is
documented in the individual event-message descriptions.
Event Messages Sent by SNAX/XF
The SNAX/XF event messages are divided into seven categories:
Common Level 2 event messages
Line-handler event messages
PU event messages
LU event messages
Service-manager event messages
SPI event messages
Checkpointing event messages
The service-manager event messages are further divided into four subcategories:
General event messages
LU Network Services (LUNS) event messages
Communications Network Management (CNM) event messages
Configuration services (CS) event messages
