attribute token
With associated passthrough, no USS messages flow from the host SSCP to the device.
Logon requests from the device flow to the SSCP and not the host SSCP.
attribute token. A parameter or response token that represents one or more characteristics of
an object.
availability. The amount of time an application running on a Compaq system can be used
effectively by a user of that application.
backup process. The member of a process pair that takes over the application work when the
primary process fails.
basic information unit (BIU). The unit of data and control information that consists of a
request/response header (RH) followed by a request/response unit (RU).
basic transmission unit (BTU). Information that the data link control sends over a link. A
basic information unit can consist of one path information unit (PIU), several PIUs, or a
part of a PIU.
BIND command. The Systems Network Architecture (SNA) command that includes
information necessary to establish a session between two logical units (LUs).
Bind entry. A BIND image record in a BIND table.
Bind table. A table that contains BIND images named in BIND entries.
BIU. See basic information unit (BIU)

block mode. A mode of operation in which computer programs and devices exchange data in
quantities greater than the line size of the particular device.
Boolean. A token type that must have one of two values: true or false.
BTU. See basic transmission unit (BTU)

call-in. Receipt of a request for the establishment of a switched connection using SNAX/CM.
call-out. A request for establishment of a switched connection using SNAX/CM.
CCE. See condition code equal under the term condition code
.
CCITT. Comite Consultatif International Telegraphique et Telephonique (International
Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee). An international organization that
makes recommendations for data communications standards.
CCL. See condition code less than under the term condition code

CDI. Change direction indicator.
