network protocol to the Trap Multiplexer for conversion into EMS events. The Trap
Multiplexer converts all the traps it receives into EMS events, which can be accessed by
a manager that resides on a NonStop Kernel system.
Guardian and OSS Interoperability
Manager Services can be used to generate managers that run in a Guardian or an OSS
environment. As Figure 1-9
illustrates, managers running in either environment can
communicate with NonStop SNMP entities running in the other environment. Currently,
the NonStop agent and subagents run in the Guardian environment, but are accessible
using either the IPC or the TCP/IP protocol by managers that run in the OSS
environment.
