-FA Switch
In this example, SWID is invoked with the -FA switch.
When you use the -FA switch, the body of the file fingerprint consists of the file name,
the current fingerprint, and the original fingerprint on three separate lines as shown in
the example.
Considerations
•
The SWID banner and run statistics (if the -DS switch is used) have the same
output format as if the -FA switch was selected.
•
When you use the -DV switch, the SWID output format matches the previous
example.
•
If the original fingerprint is not available for a file (particularly during the migration
period), SWID outputs ** n/a ** in place of the original fingerprint as shown
previously. This format is in contrast to *n/a* (single enclosing asterisk and no
spaces) when neither the -FA or -DV switch is used.
•
If a file I/O error occurs in computing or extracting fingerprints, SWID writes the
error message in place of the fingerprint. The error message is enclosed in
msouble asterisks (** ) for ease of reading. For a listing of the possible error
messages, see Appendix A, Error Messages.
•
If two fingerprints have been computed and do not match, SWID outputs
** mismatch ** after the original fingerprint as shown previously.
•
When you use the -FA switch, the fingerprint is displayed without hyphens.
