CONNECT
CONNECT
ZCOM-CMD-CONNECT (sensitive)
The CONNECT command creates an explicit link between two or more objects. The
specific characteristics of the link and the summary state for each object in the link are
defined in the subsystem management programming manuals for the subsystems that
support this command. Compare with DISCONNECT on page 5-31.
The object from which the link is being established is specified in ZCOM-TKN-
OBJNAME. The object to which the link is being established is referred to as a target
object and is specified in ZCOM-TKN-TARGET-OBJNAME.
If ZCOM-TKN-TARGET-OBJNAME has a different manager process than ZCOM-TKN-
OBJNAME, the target’s manager name is specified using ZCOM-TKN-TARGET-MGR.
If the target object is of a different type than the object named in ZCOM-TKN-
OBJNAME, the target’s type is specified in ZCOM-TKN-TARGET-OBJTYPE. To
determine whether a subsystem supports any of these tokens, see the subsystem-
specific management programming manual.
ZCOM-TKN-TARGET-MGR
specifies the name of a local subsystem manager process. If this token is not
present and the information is not included in ZCOM-TKN-TARGET-OBJNAME,
the name specified in ZSPI-TKN-MANAGER is assumed.
