SPOOLER Command
SPOOLER STATUS Display
The STATUS subcommand produces a display with the following headings:
SPOOLER STATE LOGGING FILE LAST ERROR
Table 3-19 describes the SPOOLER STATUS display entries.
COLLECTORS Is the number of collectors known to the spooler supervisor. This
count can be as large as the configured maximum number of
collectors (20 in the example).
PRINTERS Is the number of print processes known to the spooler supervisor.
This count can as large as the configured maximum number of
print processes (20 in the example).
FONTS Is the number of fonts known to the spooler supervisor. This count
can be as large as the configured maximum number of FONT jobs
(2000 in the example).

Entry Description
SPOOLER Is the process name of the spooler.
STATE Is the state of the spooler (active, drain, warm, or cold).
Spoolcom cannot communicate with a dormant spooler.
Refer to the Spooler Plus Programmer’s Guide for a full
description of the spooler states.
ACTIVE The spooler is fully operational and ready to
accept output from application processes.
DRAIN The collector process has stopped accepting
new jobs and will enter the dormant state after
all open jobs have finished spooling. Once
drained, the spooler enters the dormant state.
WARM This state indicates the restarting of a spooler
that was previously active.
