Extended Component Limits
Table H-1 compares Spooler and Spooler Plus component limits.
Extended Capacity Startup
Both the Spooler and Spooler Plus products can be coldstarted with extended capacity
settings. However, operating the spooler in extended capacity configurations requires
that the Spooler Plus product be installed.
Greater Use of Virtual Memory
The Spooler Plus spooler supervisor uses virtual memory in proportion to the number
of objects configured. Large configurations coupled with the significant increase in
virtual memory used by collectors is likely to require that the virtual memory configured
for the system be increased.
Improved Command Processing Performance
Normal operations of collection, scheduling and delivery are not affected significantly
by increases in spooler supervisor table sizes. The processing of spooler commands
that search these tables, however, might take longer in larger configurations.
Support for Larger Job and Batch Numbers
The Spooler Plus Peruse and Spoolcom utilities have been enhanced to display and
allow entry of larger job and batch numbers.
