CATALOGS Table in the System Catalog
Depending on the version of the system catalog being referred to, catalog version
information is recorded in one or two columns of the CATALOGS table.
A version 2 CATALOGS table contains only a VERSION column. A version 300 or
newer CATALOGS table contains version information in both the VERSION and
CATALOGVERSION columns. Values in the VERSION column of a version 300 or
newer CATALOGS table are maintained for compatibility with versions 1 and 2.
The catalog version information in the CATALOGVERSION column is recorded in
integer format, which is compatible with SQL/MP software and SQL object and
program versions.
This table lists the contents of the VERSION and CATALOGVERSION columns of a
version 315 catalog. Catalog version information can be recorded in the CATALOGS
table for version 1, version 2, and version 300 or newer catalogs.
