\SYS2.$SYSTEM.SYSTEM.SQLMSG, is 315.
Using Alternate Language Message Files
Message files can be written in languages other than English. For example, you can use
SQL/MP with French or Japanese message files.
When an alternate language message file is derived from an English-language message
file, the alternate language message file has the same version as the English-language
file. However, because of the time required for translation, a translated message file is
sometimes released later than the English message file from which it is derived. As a
result, the latest available version of an alternate language message file may be older
than the latest available version of the English-language message file.
When an alternate language message file is installed, the corresponding English-
language version of the SQL message file is also installed. The English-language
version of the message file is stored as $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.SQLMSG on the local
node, as shown in Figure 4-1
.
Specifying an Alternate Language Message File
The version of the English-language message file that resides on
$SYSTEM.SYSTEM.SQLMSG has the same version as the SQL/MP software that
resides on the same node. Unless otherwise directed by a DEFINE command, as
described below, this is the current message file.
