Steps for Migrating From SQL/MX Release 1.8 to SQL/MX Release 2.x on
page 5-5
Meeting System Hardware Requirements
SQL/MX Release 2.x requires processors that support IEEE floating-point functions. All
processors in a node on which SQL/MX Release 2.x is installed must be Model 1954
(S72000) or later. Otherwise, the
InstallSqlmx script does not install SQL/MX
Release 2.x. For more information about installing NonStop SQL/MX, see the
SQL/MX
Installation and Management Guide.
SQL/MX Release 1.8 is not supported on systems running H-series RVUs. Before
migrating from a NonStop S-series system to an Integrity NonStop NS-series system,
first migrate from SQL/MX Release 1.8 to SQL/MX Release 2.x on the S-series
system. Then migrate the SQL/MX Release 2.x database to the NS-series system. For
more information, see the
NonStop NS-Series Database Migration Guide.
Meeting Operating System Requirements
SQL/MX Release 2.x requires G06.23 or a later RVU and is not supported on
pre-G06.23 RVUs.
Fallback to SQL/MX releases earlier than SQL/MX Release 1.8 is not supported. If you
are using an SQL/MX release earlier than SQL/MX Release 1.8, you must migrate to
