Verifying Executable File Versions
Interface Description Files
Verifying Executable File Versions
1. Use the VPROC command to display the version of specified executables installed
on your system.
2. Verify that the displayed version information is correct for the specified executable.
To display the version information about executable files in the OSS environment,
enter:
vproc executable-file-name
To display version information about executable files in the Guardian environment,
enter:
VPROC executable-file-name
For example, to find the version of MXCMP installed, at a TACL prompt, enter:
VPROC $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.MXCMP
You will see something similar to:
VPROC - T9617G03 - (07 AUG 2003) SYSTEM \HOME Date 13 JAN 2004, 16:40:17
Copyright 2003 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
$SYSTEM.SYSTEM.MXCMP
GMT Binder timestamps: 19DEC2003 01:00:43
Version procedure: T8432G09_30APR20031CRTLMAIN
Version procedure: S0200G10_29JAN2004_FCS_20031217
Version procedure: T1050G10_29JAN2004_FCS_20031217
Version procedure: T6523G05_08MAY2002_RTLABF
Version procedure: T7035D40^17JUL97^03OCT97^AAB
Native Mode: runnable file
To make sure that the displayed version information for an executable is correct for the
SUT, check the version procedure text. For example, in this VPROC display for MXCMP,
the “G10” in S0200G10 and T1050G10 is a reliable indicator that the correct version of
MXCMP has been installed from the G06.23 or later SUT. For Release 2.1, “G21” would
be the reliable indicator.
