HP NonStop SQL/MX Connectivity Service Manual—524944-008
1-1
1 Overview of MXCS
HP NonStop SQL/MX Connectivity Services (MXCS) enables applications developed
for the Microsoft® Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) application programming
interface (API) and the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API to use SQL/MX to
access a NonStop SQL database on an HP NonStop server.
MXCS is managed by NSM/web, which is a web-based graphical user interface (GUI)
management tool for configuring and monitoring the server components and data
sources. For information about NSM/web see the SQL/MX Installation and
Management Guide and the NSM/web online help. In addition, MXCS can be managed
via the mxci command-line interface.
