Preface This manual provides information on how to install the HP NonStop SST Agent on the HP NonStop server. Before You Begin As the administrator who administers the HP Nonstop SST Agent, you should be familiar with the HP NonStop Servers, network protocols, client/server architecture and basic Microsoft Windows navigation. Who Should Read This Guide The target audiences for the Guide are the people working in the systems operation/support groups, responsible for installing/using HP NonStop SST Agent.
This chapter provides information on the steps to be followed for installing HP NonStop SST Agent in the HP NonStop environment. NOTE: The HP Nonstop SST Agent is designed for the ACI BASE24™ application platform. Make sure that the ACI BASE24 5.x or 6.x is installed on the HP NonStop Server before installing HP NonStop SST Agent. 1-1 Backend Installation Files The following files are required for installing HP NonStop SST Agent on an HP NonStop Server.
Table 1-1 Instinfo File Parameters Parameters Description TCPIP_PROCESS_NAME(S) Any TCPIP process. For example $ZTC0 or $ZTC1. NEF The NEF file location and name. SST_STAT_RDR_TDF_SUBV OL Change to point to the corresponding location in your environment. PORTS Change the port numbers as per your environment. SST_EMON_KEY The EMON license key. NOTE: The parameters that have multiple instances in the Instinfo file are preceded by the ampersand symbol (&).
Once the SSTPAK, INSTALL and INSTINFO files are transferred to the HP NonStop Host, start a telnet session and login. After logging in, switch to the working subvolume (the subvolume where the installation files were copied). Start the installation using the following command: Run install / out purgeme.instlog / The installation is completed with the display of messages.
1-3 Starting HP NonStop SST Agent 1-3-1 Starting HP NonStop SST Agent for SST/OB Use the following command to start HP NonStop SST Agent for SST/OB on the HP NonStop Server. $SYSTEM.SSTOB 85> RUN STRTAOB Use the following command to stop HP NonStop SST Agent for SST/OB on the HP NonStop Server. $SYSTEM.SSTOB 85> RUN STOPAOB 1-3-2 Starting HP NonStop SST Agent for ATM/TA Use the following command to start HP NonStop SST Agent for ATM/TA on the HP NonStop Server. $SYSTEM.
Use the following command to check the status of the HP NonStop SST Agent for ATM/TA on the HP NonStop Server. $SYSTEM.SSTATM 90> RUN STATTLF Here is a sample output of the status utility. $SYSTEM.SSTATM 90> run STATTLF status *, prog $SYSTEM.SSTATM.* Process Pri PFR %WT Userid Program file Hometerm $SSALG 0,378 160 001 50,1 $SYSTEM.SSTATM.TLFLOGR $ZHOME $SSMAN 0,439 190 001 50,1 $SYSTEM.SSTATM.TLFMAIN $ZHOME $SSARD 0,451 160 001 50,1 $SYSTEM.SSTATM.
1-5 Upgrading HP SST Agent Backend Environment Follow the steps given below to upgrade the HP SST Agent Backend Environment: 1. Stop the HP NonStop SST Agent services for POS/TA, ATM/TA and SST/OB on the HP NonStop Server. 2. Take a backup of all customer specific files. NOTE: It is recommended to take a backup of the entire backend environment. 3. Upload HP NonStop SST Agent backend installation files (SSTPAK, INSTINFO and INSTALL) in any of the volume.subvolume. 4.
Appendix A Installation Information 1. HP NonStop Node Name The Name of the HP NonStop Node where HP NonStop SST Agent is to be installed. Example: \NODE 2. User ID and Password User IP and password for the HP NonStop SST Agent user. 3. Temporary Volume. Subvolume The Volume.Subvolume where the NonStop SST Agent installation files will be copied. 4. Installation Subvolume Appendix A The subvolume where NonStop SST Agent will be installed. Example: $SYSTEM.SST 5.
Appendix B Sample INSTINFO File When you think you are done making changes to this file, search for the ampersand symbol (&). If you find any, review and fix those lines. == Global Parameters Change the next line to contain only the products needed. Each product must be separated by a hyphen. Product: OB-ATM-POS The following line is for documentation only. It should contain the name of the vol.subvol that is used for the work subvolume. WorkSubvol: $DATBT1.zsst4 The default home terminal is $VHS.
You must change this statement to specify the $vol and subvolume prefix that will be used for all the applications to be installed. Four (4) subvolumes will be used if all applications are installed. xxxCMN will always be used - it contains the files that are shared across all applications. xxxATM contains the ATMTA files. xxxPOS contains the POSTA files. xxxOB contains the SSTOB files. The easiest way to change this is to Change All &inst-sub to the vol.subvol you will be using.
== Operations Bridge Parameters If you use AO or OVNM, specify the EMS collector process that is used by that application here. You should use EDIT again and change all references of &MC to the correct collector process name. sst_monitor_collector: &MC The following is the EMS collector that is used by Base24. Please change all &B24 to the correct EMS collector process name. sst_base24_collector: &B24 Please add $VOL.SUBVOL where customer want to create files OB Database Files.
