2. Click on the New button create a new Alert template. This displays the Create Alert Template dialog box.

3. Enter a name for the alert in the Name field.
4. Specify description for the alert in the Description field.
5. Use the Log to check boxes to select where the alerts will be logged. The options available are:
• Log to the Windows Event Log on the Application Server: Selecting this option will log the alerts to the
Windows event log on the SST/OB Application Server.
• Log to a HP NonStop Node: Selecting this option will log the threshold alerts to the specified HP
NonStop Node. The node can be specified using the node Name box.
6. Specify the Alert text to be generated using the Alert Text field.
7. The next step is to specify severity for the Alert using Severity drop-down list. The options available are
Undefined, Information, Warning, Minor, Major and Critical.
8. Specify the Violation Event Number for the event that will be generated when the threshold condition is met.
9. Specify the Normal Event Number for the event that will be generated when the threshold condition returns
to normal state after having been in violation.
10. Select Log Normal Alerts check box to log normal alerts.
11. Click on the OK button to save the changes.
