3-1 Application Server Services Log File Shows Database
Connection Lost
If the Application Server services log file shows the message that the database connection is lost, check the
following to troubleshoot the problem.
• Check ODBC DSN Connection
Check the SSTOB ODBC DSN connection after installation to make sure that the SSTOB Database and
Application Server are accessible to each other.
• Check Network Connectivity
The database connection problem might occur due to the network connectivity problems or a network cable
may be unplugged.
Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test the basic connectivity.
To watch Ping statistics, use
the ping -t command.
3-2 Restarting a Service
Use the Service Manager to check for the status of the various SST/OB Services. The Service Manager can be
accessed using the Start->Programs-> HP SST->SSTOB->Server->Service Manager option.

The Status column in the service Manager displays the status of the various SST/OB services. To start a service
which is in the stopped state, select the service and click on the Start button. The command can also be
accessed from the service(s) right-click menu.
