COMPLETEPENDOPS Command
COMPLETEPENDOPS Command
This command instructs a process to finish an in-process operation recorded in
PENDOPS: for example, during a process start up or takeover.
When an SMF process processes entries in its PENDOPS catalog file, the process is
occasionally unable to determine whether or not an operation should be finished or
abandoned. If this occurs, the SMF process emits an EMS event that describes the
situation. The EMS event contains the name of the object. Because only one operation
at a time can be performed on a object by an SMF process, the name of the object
uniquely identifies the operation to the SMF process.
See also ABANDONPENDOPS Command on page 9-7.
object-name
is the name of the object, as specified in the EMS event message.
process-name
is the name of an SMF process: for example, the pool process, the virtual disk
process, or the SMF master process.
DISABLEPMCREATES Command
The DISABLEPMCREATES command halts placement manager file creation activity
on a physical disk in the event that a pool process is unable to do so.
The DISABLEPMCREATES command causes file creation requests from virtual disk
processes to be rejected for the specified physical volume. After this command is
executed, any attempt to create new files by virtual disk processes is rejected; that is,
the virtual disk process FILE CREATE operation returns an error. The physical volume
process must be executing in the UP state. See also ENABLEPMCREATES
Command.
physvol-name
is the name of a physical volume.
ENABLEPMCREATES Command
The ENABLEPMCREATES command enables placement manager file creations on a
physical disk in the event that a pool process is unable to do so.
