Remove the WAN BIC
Remove the WAN BIC
1. Put on an ESD wriststrap and connect the grounding clip securely to an unpainted
metal surface on the SWAN 2 concentrator rack containing the WAN BIC to be
replaced.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver (if necessary) to loosen the lock-down screws on the
interface converter cable connected to the WAN BIC to be replaced. Disconnect
the interface converter cable from the WAN BIC to be replaced. (You can leave the
Ethernet cable connected to the interface converter cable.)
3. Loosen the thumbscrews on the WAN BIC to be replaced and pull the WAN BIC
partway out until it is unseated from the SWAN 2 concentrator chassis.
4. Grasp the WAN BIC in one hand and, while supporting the bottom edge of the
WAN BIC with the other hand, slowly pull the WAN BIC all the way out of the slot.
5. Place the WAN BIC in an ESD protective bag and pack it into its original shipping
container.
