Remove the LAN BIC

1. Put on an ESD wriststrap and connect the grounding clip securely to an unpainted

metal surface on the SWAN 2 concentrator rack containing the LAN BIC to be

replaced.

2. Disconnect the RJ-45 plug of the Ethernet cable from the RJ-45 jack of the

LAN BIC to be replaced.

3. Loosen the thumbscrew on the LAN BIC to be replaced and pull the LAN BIC

partway out until it is unseated from the SWAN 2 concentrator chassis.

4. Grasp the LAN BIC in one hand and, while supporting the bottom edge of the

LAN BIC with the other hand, slowly pull the LAN BIC all the way out of the slot.

5. Place the LAN BIC in an ESD protective bag and pack it into its original shipping

container.
