Remove the Battery
Remove the Battery
1. Put on an ESD wriststrap and connect the grounding clip securely to an unpainted
metal surface on the SWAN 2 concentrator rack containing the battery to be
replaced.
2. Loosen the thumbscrew on the battery to be replaced and using both hands, pull
the battery all the way out of the slot.
Unpack and Inspect the Replacement Battery
1. Disconnect the grounding clip of your ESD wriststrap from the SWAN 2
concentrator and connect it to an antistatic mat.
2. Place the shipping container containing the replacement battery on the antistatic
mat.
3. Open the shipping container and remove the battery.
4. Visually inspect the replacement battery for damage. If the battery is damaged, do
not use it. Instead, contact your HP service provider.
Caution. When opening the shipping container, be careful not to cut into the ESD protective
bag.
