Replacing a Battery

Install the Replacement Battery

1. Disconnect the grounding clip of your ESD wriststrap from the antistatic mat and

connect it to an unpainted metal surface on the replacement battery.

2. Grasp the battery, support the bottom edge of the battery with the other hand, carry

the battery to the back of the SWAN 2 concentrator rack, and set it down on an

antistatic mat right side up with the thumbscrew to the left.

3. Disconnect the grounding clip of your ESD wriststrap from the replacement battery

and connect it to an unpainted metal surface on the back of the SWAN 2

concentrator rack.

4. Using two hands, line up the battery with the guides inside the battery slot.

5. Carefully push the battery all the way into the battery slot.

6. Tighten the thumbscrew to lock the battery into place. Do not overtighten the

thumbscrew.

7. Disconnect the grounding clip of your ESD wriststrap from the SWAN 2

concentrator rack.

Note. The battery weighs 3.2 pounds (1.45 kilograms).
