Clear the Alarm and Verify the Installation of the Replacement
Battery
1. Verify that the replacement battery appears in the OSM Service Connection.
2. After several seconds, make sure that the amber fault LED is not lit on the battery.
Figure 2-6 on page 2-33 shows the location of the battery LED, and Table 2-4 on
page 2-31 describes the function of this LED.
If the amber fault LED is lit:
Use the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service Application to check for
alarms related to the battery.
Reseat the battery.
Check the battery for damage. Replace the battery if it is damaged.
3. Clear the previous alarm using one of these methods (failure to clear the alarm
results in OSM dialing out after 24 hours):
Issue a Rediscover action on the replacement battery in the OSM Service
Connection
Restart the OSM CIMOM ($ZCMOM) process to clear the alarm
