Unpack and Prepare the Replacement Chassis
4. Remove all WAN BICs following the procedure described in Remove the WAN BIC
on page 7-4.
5. Remove all LAN BICs following the procedure described in Remove the LAN BIC
on page 9-3.
6. Remove the battery following the procedure described in Remove the Battery on
page 11-3.
7. Remove both fans following the procedure described in Remove the Fan on
page 12-4.
Unpack and Prepare the Replacement Chassis
1. Preferably, two people should unpack the replacement chassis. Place the chassis
on a flat surface.
2. Visually inspect the replacement chassis for damage. If the chassis is damaged,
do not use it. Instead, contact your HP service provider.
3. Record the configuration track-ID and the 12 media access control (MAC)
addresses located on the back of the replacement chassis on the SWAN
Concentrator Configuration Planning Form provided in the WAN Subsystem
Configuration and Management Manual.
Reinstall the Components in the Associated SWAN 2
Concentrator
1. Reinstall both LAN logic boards following the procedure described in Install the
Replacement LAN LB on page 8-5.
2. Reinstall both power supplies following the procedure described in Install the
Replacement Power Supply on page 10-5.
3. Reinstall all CLIPs following the procedure described in Install the Replacement
CLIP on page 6-5.
4. Reinstall all WAN BICs following the procedure described in Install the
Replacement WAN BIC on page 7-6.
5. Reinstall all LAN BICs following the procedure described in Install the Replacement
LAN BIC on page 9-5.
6. Reinstall both fans following the procedure described in Install the Replacement
Fan on page 12-5.
7. Reinstall the battery following the procedure described in Install the Replacement
Battery on page 11-4.
Note. The chassis weighs 13.9 pounds (6.32 kilograms).
