Connecting a Current Loop Device
Figure D-1 shows an installation using an RS-232-to-current-loop converter to connect
a SWAN 2 concentrator to a current loop device. The converter is powered and
therefore does not drain power from the RS-232 circuitry.
Figure D-2 shows an installation using an RS-232-to-current loop converter to connect
a SWAN 2 concentrator to a current loop device using an existing current loop cable.
Note. Although the SWAN 2 concentrator does not support a native current loop interface, it
does support an external current loop connection. Extra hardware is required and must be
ordered from HP.
