Ethernet Ports on a SWAN 2 Concentrator
This figure shows how the SWAN 2 concentrator connects to the G4SA’s Ethernet
ports on the Integrity NonStop NS-series server through the concentrator’s two 10/100
Base-T Ethernet ports. A G4SA in a BladeSystem IOAM enclosure would connect to
the SWAN 2 concentrator in the same way.
The Ethernet switches or hubs in this figure are part of a private Ethernet LAN that
transports frames between the SWAN 2 concentrator and the Integrity
NonStop NS-series server. The WAN subsystem currently supports only private or
local Ethernet segments. HP does not recommend using a SWAN 2 concentrator on a
public network for security reasons. Also, isolate the SWAN 2 concentrator from other
network traffic.
