4-4
Execute the Verify Logical Configuration Action
BIC and LAN BIC. All SWAN 2 concentrator components are labeled (see
Figure 1-1 on page 1-3 and Figure 1-2 on page 1-4). These labels match the
component identifier in an alarm (for example, FAN1).
Execute the Verify Logical Configuration Action
Use the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service Application (G-series RVUs only) to
verify that your SWAN 2 configuration is correct by running the Verify Logical
Configuration action on the SWAN 2 concentrator and WAN Path objects.
Execute a Loopback Test
Use the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service Application (G-series RVUs only) to
initiate an External Loopback Test action on a WAN line object. This test provides
better fault isolation and allows you to test a single line without affecting the other lines.
You must install an external loopback connector to run this test.
Execute SWAN 2 CLIP Test Actions
For more information on using the OSM Service Connection, refer to the OSM User’s
Guide or the online help.
Table 4-2. Order in Which to Run SWAN 2 CLIP Test Actions
Step Action Description
1. Test Full Path Access Tests two-way access to the primary and
alternate paths.
2. Test Basic Online (CLIP) Runs an online test to determine whether the
CLIP is functional and tests two-way access to
the primary and alternate paths.
3. Test Verify Executes the power-on self-test (POST). The
POST disrupts activity on the WAN lines on the
CLIP. Executing the OSM or TSM Test Verify
Action on page 4-5 describes the tasks you must
perform before and after executing the Test
Verify action.
Note. Alternatively, if you know which CLIP path has a problem, you can execute:
•
Test Primary Path Access to test the two-way access to the primary path.
•
Test Backup Path Access to test the two-way access to the alternate path.
