Component-Replacement Tools

You use the following software tools to diagnose and replace failed SWAN 2

concentrator components. Hardware tools are described in each replacement section:

•

WAN Wizard Pro

•

OSM or TSM package

•

Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)

WAN Wizard Pro

WAN Wizard Pro is a graphical user interface (GUI) that guides you through the adding

and configuration of a SWAN 2 concentrator, including the Ethernet adapters, logical

interfaces (LIFs), and TCP/IP processes that support the SWAN 2 concentrator's

Ethernet connections.

Depending on your RVU, you gain access to WAN Wizard Pro through the taskbar on

your system console by using one of the following methods:

•

For G06.21 RVU and later RVUs:

Start>Programs>HP WAN Wizard Pro>WAN Wizard Pro

•

For G06.20 RVU and earlier RVUs:

Start>Programs>Compaq TSM>Guided Configuration Tools>WAN Wizard Pro

OSM or TSM Package

You must be running the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service Application

(G-series RVUs only) to receive the alarms that are generated. Refer to View Alarms

Using OSM or TSM on page 4-2.

Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)

The Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) manages communications and storage

subsystems and system and user-created generic processes. SWAN 2 concentrator

components can be replaced online manually by using SCF.

Some components can also be replaced online with the guided replacement tools; for

more information, refer to WAN Wizard Pro.
