Standard Operating Practices
Whenever you replace a component, follow these standard operating practices to
minimize any potential damage to the equipment.
Replace only hardware components that are customer-replaceable and that have
replacement procedures in this guide.
Remove all metal and jewelry accessories before working with the equipment.
These items can damage electrical equipment or result in personal injury.
Before working with the electromechanical equipment, restrain any dangling items
that can get caught in it, such as long hair and sleeves.
During a replacement procedure, replace the SWAN 2 concentrator components in
a timely fashion to avoid permanent damage to SWAN 2 concentrator components
from overheating.
Follow the guidelines under ESD Guidelines on page 5-4 for working in an
electrostatic discharge (ESD)-protected environment and for handling components.
Caution. Replace only one component online at a time. Attempting to replace more than one
component online at a time might cause connectivity problems.
