Configuration Setup for a Modem or a DCE
To configure the setup for remote modem testing:
•
Modem should be in synchronous-HDLC, leased line operation, and loopback
mode.
•
Modem’s RTS and DTR should be controlled by DTE (SWAN or SWAN 2).
•
Modem’s DSR should be controlled by modem’s DTR.
•
Modem’s CTS should be controlled by modem’s RTS.
•
Clocking should be internal to the modem (that is, clocking is controlled by DCE).
