Recovery. If the request is successful, no action is necessary. If the request fails, retry
it by specifying the proper PROGRAM file.
FIRMUP Error Messages
The following error messages indicate error messages and indications in FIRMUP.
These messages are generated by the WANBoot process for FIRMUP failures or when
the FIRMUP is successful.
The FIRMUP errors can be originated primarily from WANBoot and Conmgr. In this
case, the error message is originated by Conmgr and WANboot copies the error
message and displays it. For a discussion of errors provided by ConMgr and the
appropriate recovery actions, see the ConMgr Error Messages on page 7-10.
Format
This example shows the general format of WANBoot FIRMUP messages (G06.07 and
later RVUs):
The following list describes the steps in the FIRMUP procedure and error notification:
Initial BOOTP(1)
As soon as FIRMUP is initiated the WANBoot process requests the CLIP to reset
itself and send a BOOTP request.
Initial Add Task(1)
The WANBoot process as part of the FIRMUP requests ConMgr to download the
SWAN firmware file to the CLIP.
Final Bootp(1)
After the FIRMUP is completed the SWAN reboots with the latest firmware and
sends a BOOTP request when complete.
(2) The reason for failure is reported here. For the “Initial Add Task” step the errors
from ConMgr are reported as is.
