Determining the LIFs and PIFs for an Adapter
Determining the LIFs and PIFs for an Adapter
This is an example of the SCF INFO LIF command:
INFO LIF $ZZLAN.*
-> SLSA Info LIF
Associated
Name Object MAC Address Type
$ZZLAN.L11123A G11123.0.A 08:00:8E:00:97:B0 Ethernet
$ZZLAN.L11123B G11123.0.B 08:00:8E:00:97:B0 Ethernet
$ZZLAN.L11123C G11123.0.C 08:00:8E:00:97:B0 Ethernet
$ZZLAN.L11123D G11123.0.D 08:00:8E:00:97:B0 Ethernet
Logical interface (LIF) names are shown in the Name column and physical interface
(PIF) names are shown in the Associated Object column. The name of the adapter is
the first part of the PIF name (for example, G11123).
The PIF name indicates the physical port on the adapter. For example, the PIF named
G11123.0.A. identifies port A on the G4SA named G11123, and the PIF named
G11123.0.B identifies port B, and the PIF named G11123.0.C identifies port C, and
G11123.0.D identifies port D. In this example, the LIFs associated with the G4SA
named G11123 are named L11123A, L11123B, L11123C, and L11123D.
