Verifying LAN Hardware for a SWAN Concentrator
For more detailed information about configuring the track-ID, see the WAN Subsystem
Configuration and Management Manual.
Verifying LAN Hardware for a SWAN
Concentrator
Verifying the LAN hardware used by a SWAN concentrator involves standard
networking troubleshooting techniques to isolate the failure location (check Ethernet
segments, Ethernet cables, and Ethernet hubs/routers).
Note that the WAN subsystem currently supports private or local Ethernet segments
only.
To connect more than one SWAN concentrator to an E4SA, FESA, GESA, or G4SA
port, use Ethernet hubs or routers. HP does not recommend the use of other types of
network devices gateways because the SWAN concentrator transmits TCP/IP
broadcast messages that these devices might not support.
Correcting a LAN Hardware Problem for a
SWAN Concentrator
Correcting problems in the LAN hardware used by a SWAN concentrator involves
standard network troubleshooting techniques such as replacing cables and Ethernet
hubs and routers.
SWAN Concentrator LEDs
Status light-emitting diodes (LEDs) light on the SWAN concentrator during the
power-on self-test (POST). These status LEDs and their functions are described in
Table 4-1 on page 4-16 for the SWAN concentrator and Table 4-2 on page 4-17 for the
SWAN 2 concentrator.
POST results can be examined in the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service
Application.
