SWAN Concentrator LEDs
LAN BIC (TXD)
(Transmit)
Green Flashes on and off when a SWAN 2
concentrator is transmitting data from this
Ethernet port.
The transmit LED flashes at either 0, 2.5, 5, or
10 Hz, depending on the amount of traffic.
Sometimes the transmission of a single short
data frame does not cause the LED to flash.
(LNK)
(Link
integrity)
Green Lights when a link is established with the
Ethernet. There is a LNK indicator for each of
the two Ethernet ports.
(RXD)
(Receive)
Green Flashes on and off when a SWAN 2
concentrator is receiving RXD data from this
Ethernet port.
The receive LED flashes at either 0, 2.5, 5, or
10 Hz, depending on the amount of traffic.
Sometimes the reception of a single short data
frame does not cause the LED to flash.
The receive LED flashes whether or not the
frame is addressed to this SWAN 2
concentrator.
(COL)
(Collision)
Green Lights when a collision occurs between a
SWAN 2 concentrator and another station on
the same Ethernet collision domain.
The collision LED flashes at either 0, 2.5, 5, or
10 Hz, depending on the rate of collisions.
Collisions are a normal and expected part of
Ethernet half duplex operation, and they are a
problem only when they reach an excessive
level. Determining what is an excessive number
of collisions is specific to each site. You cannot
tell what is excessive by the LED.
100
(100 Mbits)
Green Lights when a SWAN 2 concentrator is
operating at 100 Mbits speed. This indicator is
unlit during 10 Mbps operation.
