SWAN Firmware File
SWAN Firmware File
The SWAN firmware file is the 510 disk file that resides on a NonStop system disk file
and is downloaded to the SWAN concentrator. The SWAN firmware file contains the
following:
SWAN Bootcode (T7954), which is written into the flash programmable memory
(PROM) on each CLIP on the SWAN concentrator. This file contains:
°
SWAN Loader (T7955), which tests the SWAN concentrator hardware with the
power-on self-test (POST) and then copies the SWAN Kernel file from
essential flash PROM into dynamic random access memory (DRAM) for faster
execution.
°
SWAN Kernel (T7848), which is downloaded through the KERNELCODE
attribute of the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) ADD ADAPTER command,
the OSM Service Connection, or the TSM Service Application (G06.21 and
earlier RVUs only). The SWAN Kernel file resides in the essential part of the
flash PROM.
SWAN Firmtask (T5814), which is downloaded into the SWAN concentrator’s
DRAM along with the PROM image. This file updates the flash image in the SWAN
concentrator’s flash PROM.
Updating the SWAN firmware is described in Connecting a Current Loop Adapter on
page C-1.
