Step 2: Mounting the SWAN Concentrator
Mounting the SWAN Concentrator Into a 19-Inch Metric Rack
The SWAN concentrator comes installed with standard (EIA) rack-mounting brackets. If
you are installing the SWAN concentrator into a metric rack, you must remove the
standard brackets and install the metric brackets. Figure 2-4 shows how to change the
brackets. Metric brackets have two mounting holes while standard brackets have four
mounting holes.
Use the following procedure to install the SWAN concentrator into an EIA rack as
shown in Figure 2-5:
1. One person lifts the SWAN concentrator into position in the 19-inch rack. Raise or
lower the housing until the rack-mounting bracket holes align with the rack holes at
the desired installation height.
2. The second person installs two screws in each mounting bracket and tightens
them securely.
