Diagnostic (DIAG) Tasks
Diagnostic (DIAG) tasks are downloaded to the SWAN concentrator when the task is to
be executed. As soon as the test completes, the task is removed from the CLIP
memory.
The following DIAG tasks are provided:
•
FIRMUP procedure
•
SWAN concentrator test actions
•
FIRINIT procedure
FIRMUP Procedure
The FIRMUP procedure updates the flash PROM by downloading the SWAN firmtask
file. The WANBoot process, the OSM Service Connection, or the TSM Service
Application can initiate and sequence the SWAN concentrator FIRMUP procedure.
For more information about updating firmware, refer to either:
•
Using OSM to Update SWAN CLIP Firmware on page 3-1
•
Using TSM to Update SWAN CLIP Firmware on page 4-1.
The FIRMUP procedure might take sometime. See Table A-1 on page A-2 for more
details.
Note. Refer to the SWAN Concentrator and WAN Subsystem Troubleshooting Guide for
information about how to troubleshoot the SWAN concentrator and WAN subsystem on a
NonStop system.
