FIRINIT Task
FIRINIT Task
This task is for service providers for updating the CLIP field-replaceable unit (FRU)
Information Record (FIR). Each CLIP on the SWAN concentrator has a FIR which
consists of essential and non-essential FIR information.
The essential FIR contains the following information:
CLIP number (1, 2, or 3)
CLIP revision level
SWAN tracking ID
MAC address of Ethernet port 0
MAC address of Ethernet port 1
The configuration track-ID is identical in each of the FIRs, while each of the six MAC
addresses are unique. The essential FIR contents never change.
The nonessential FIR contains the FIR error block. Errors are recorded in the FIR by
the pSOS kernel, the SMT task, and the DUMP task. The nonessential FIR contents
are erased whenever the FIRMUP procedure is executed.
Test Verify Action Procedure
The Test Verify action, available in the OSM Service Connection and the TSM Service
Application, executes POST and requires you to shut down any active WAN lines and
stop the SERVER and TASK objects on the CLIP you are testing.
You must complete the following procedure before executing the Test Verify action:
1. If there are WAN lines using the CLIP, you must stop them. Example A-1 shows
how to stop two WAN lines named $X25L1 and $X25L2.
2. Stop the data link control (DLC) TASK objects on the CLIP. Example A-2 shows
how to stop the DLC TASK objects on CLIP 1 for the SWAN concentrator named
S01.
3. Terminate the operation of the CLIP. Example A-3 shows how to abort CLIP 1 for
the SWAN concentrator named S01.
Example A-1. Stopping WAN Lines
STOP LINE $X25L1
STOP LINE $X25L2
Example A-2. Stopping DLC TASK Objects
STOP TASK $ZZWAN.S01.1.*
