TAPE_LABEL_PROCESSING (Optional)
Only if you are running SYSGENR outside of DSM/SCM should you change the
CONFTEXT configuration file to specify the new SYSnn subvolume.
The syntax of this entry is shown here.
nn
is a user-specified 2-digit octal number in the range %00 through %77.
To determine the location of the current SYSnn subvolume, use the SYSINFO
command. Following is an example display.
System name \NONAME
EXPAND node number 254
Current SYSnn SYS01
System number G40063
Software release ID G06.11
TAPE_LABEL_PROCESSING (Optional)
This entry enables tape-label processing for tapes with American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) labels and standard IBM labels (OS/MVS). For further information on
tape-label processing, see the Guardian User’s Guide. If you enable or disable tape-
label processing using SCF (as described in the SCF Reference Manual for the
Storage Subsystem), this CONFTEXT entry is ignored.
ENABLED
requires that all tapes used by the system be labeled unless explicitly exempted.
After the system is loaded, you must start the $ZSVR process in order to access
any tape drives. The command to start $ZSVR is as follows:
>ZSERVER / NAME $ZSVR, NOWAIT, CPU primary/backup
DISABLED
requires that all tapes used by the system be unlabeled. This is the default value.
You can also explicitly specify DISABLED to document that the system generated
by this particular CONFTEXT file does not include labeled-tape processing.
SYSTEM_VOLUME_SUBVOL $SYSTEM.SYSnn;
TAPE_LABEL_PROCESSING { ENABLED | DISABLED };
