PARAM BACKUPONLY
PARAM BACKUPONLY
If you have not entered a PARAM SYSGEN^DISKGENPARAM or an ASSIGN
SYSGEN^TAPE command, you can use this PARAM to request that SYSGENR not
send you a prompt for a system image on disk (SID) before the prompt for a system
image tape (SIT). If you do not specify this PARAM, SYSGENR issues DISKGEN
prompts. The syntax is shown below.
YES | ON
specifies that SYSGENR not issue DISKGEN prompts, but only BACKUP prompts
to create a SIT.
Example
To specify that SYSGENR prompt for a SIT but not a SID, enter the following
command:
> PARAM BACKUPONLY YES
PARAM BINDER^COMMANDS
You can use this PARAM to send additional commands to the BIND process started by
SYSGENR. The specific use for this command is to ignore extraneous BIND warning
messages. The command is shown below.
Entering this command before you run SYSGENR causes Binder to not print the
CONFLIST multiple WARNING 59, 60, and 61 messages. These warnings can safely
be ignored.
PARAM DENSITY
You can use this PARAM to specify the tape density for creating the SIT on an open-
reel tape. (This PARAM does not apply to cartridge tape, which has a fixed density of
37,870 bits/inch.)
However, if you specify the DENSITY keyword when SYSGENR prompts you for a SIT,
the DENSITY keyword overrides PARAM DENSITY. If you use this PARAM with the
ASSIGN SYSGEN^TAPE command, SYSGENR produces a SIT with no operator
intervention. If you don’t specify PARAM DENSITY, SYSGENR uses the default
density of the specified tape drive. The syntax is shown below.
PARAM BACKUPONLY { YES | ON }
PARAM BINDER^COMMANDS “SELECT CHECK PARAMETER LENIENT”
PARAM DENSITY { NRZI | 800 }
{ PE | 1600 }
{ GCR | 6250 }
