Or, you can save the SYSGENF file by entering the following ASSIGN before running
SYSGENR:
ASSIGN SYSGENF, $volume.subvolume.filename
Creating a System Image Disk (SID)
This subsection applies only if you are running SYSGENR outside of DSM/SCM, an
action that is not recommended.
Using DSM/SCM, you can enter a PARAM command like the following before
SYSGENR is run:
PARAM SYSGEN^DISKGENPARAM "$SYSTEM.SYS04 !"
This command tells DISKGEN where to write a system image and to not prompt for
another SID. For information on the PARAM SYSGEN^DISKGENPARAM command,
see page 3-16.
SYSGENR completes building the CONFLIST file and, if there are no fatal errors, asks
if you want to create a system image disk (SID) on either a local or remote system.
SYSGENR asks you if you want to create a SID by displaying the following statements
and prompt.
If you enter “N” or “No”, SYSGENR prompts you for BACKUP options for a system
image tape (SIT).
SYSGEN will allow you to run DISKGEN to write system images to disk.
SYSGEN will then allow you to run BACKUP to write system image tapes.
DO NOT USE DISKGEN UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY.
Do you want to write a system image to disk?
