Creating a System Image Disk (SID)
If you enter “Y” or “Yes”, you receive the following prompt:
SUPPLY THE DISK INFORMATION AND DISKGEN OPTIONS:
{[\system.]<diskname>[.SYSNN],<qualified-file-set-list> [ <options> ] [ ! ]}
To respond, use the syntax shown below.
[\syst.]$vol.[SYSnn]
is the location where SYSGENR should write the SID. If you don’t specify a
SYSnn subvolume, SYSGENR uses the SYSnn subvolume specified by the
SYSTEM_VOLUME_SUBVOL entry in the ALLPROCESSORS paragraph. The
volume and SYSnn subvolume specified are used as defaults in the fileset-
list below.
DISKGEN-option
is defined as
{list-element }
{ ( list-element [ , list-element ] ) }
list-element
is defined as
fileset-list [ qualifier [ qualifier ] ]
You can specify precisely which files you want DISKGEN to copy, for example
Note that there is no comma between the fileset-list and any EXCLUDE,
START, or WHERE qualifiers.
fileset-list
is a set of files to be copied, in alphabetic order, from the current system, in the
following form:
[\syst.]$vol.[SYSnn], DISKGEN-option
[, NOLASTMOD] [, LISTALL ]
Files to Copy Example
All files in the specified or default system,
volume, or subvolume
*.*.*
A file set (a list of files on a local or
remote node)
(CONFLIST, CONFTEXT, OSIMAGE)
A file-set list (one or more file-sets) (SYSTEM.*, SYS04.*)
A qualified file-set list (containing
conditions for DISKGEN to include or
exclude the copying of certain files
*.*.* EXCLUDE (USERID, USERIDAK)
