Contents of the New Operating System
The operating system created by SYSGENR contains the following files:
•
Files located in the $SYSTEM.SYSnn subvolume:
°
The files named in the FILES_TO_COPY_TO_NEW_SYSTEM entry of your
CONFTEXT file
°
The OSIMAGE file, which contains an image of the operating system
°
The CONFTEXT file, which describes the initial configuration in the OSIMAGE
file
°
The CONFAUX file, which defines installation descriptors in the CONFTEXT
file
°
The CONFLIST file, which contains a listing of all SYSGENR processing
activity
°
Millicode files
°
Event Management Service (EMS) template files
°
Files produced by SYSGENR, including TSC, TSL, TSYSCLR, and TSYSDP2,
regardless of any ASSIGN commands you have given for the location and
name of these files

Files renamed to subvolumes other than SYSnn, as specified by the RENAME_TO
option in the FILES_TO_COPY_TO_NEW_SYSTEM entry of the CONFTEXT file.

The file SYSnn.SYSDISC, which contains the bootstrap files, initial disk directory,
and free space tables for the system disk. This file is used exclusively for an initial
tape load operation. An initial tape load overwrites the previous contents of the
system disk with the new operating system files.
