Tandem Logon Manager for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR) Manual

Tandem Logon Manager for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR) Manual127335 iii
New and Changed Information
The following changes have been made in this edition of the Tandem Logon Manager
for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR) Manual:
With earlier versions of ILOGMGR, the SNAX/APN linehandler process did not
send sense data when it rejected a logon from a device. The result was that a user
could not determine the reason for the rejection. A new error code, T0025, has been
added to ILOGMGR to provide this information to the user. The error code is
documented in the subsection “T0025” on page A-8.
To prevent unusual ILOGMGR terminations, the ILOGMGR now retries opening its
access method control block (ACB) in the following cases:
There is a temporary shortage of space
VTAM has halted
The ACB APPLID was not found
THE APPLID is not active
VTAM is not active
The ACB is being closed
The ACB is being opened or closed
The time period between retries is specified in the request timeout control record,
which is described in “Configuring the Control File” on page 3-1.
A new error code, T0026, has been added to indicate to the user which of the above
conditions has occurred. The error code is documented in the subsection “T0026” on
page A-9.
ILOGMGR reply messages now display the ILOGMGR’s VTAM APPL name,
rather than the job name. This change allows you to determine which ILOGMGR
generated the reply message in cases where more than one ILOGMGR is running.
The subsection “Example ILOGMGR Configurations For Token-Ring” on page 3-7
provides examples showing you how to configure your environment for ILOGMGR
when you are using Token-Ring.
