Tandem Logon Manager for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR) Manual

Configuring for the ILOGMGR
Tandem Logon Manager for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR) Manual127335 3-9
Multiple Instances of ILOGMGR and TLOGMGR
== Local TLOGMGR LU - required
ADD LU #tlm3 ,TYPE (14,21), SNANAME TDMLGR1,PROTOCOL LOGON, &
DLUNAME #ILM3 , CREATOR #joe,APPLFILE $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.TACL
== Remote ILOGMGR LU - optional
ADD LU #ILM3 , TYPE (14,21), SNANAME ILM3 , PUNAME #PU01
START LINE $TRP1,SUB ALL
Note that configuring the remote ILOGMGR LU is optional.
If the remote ILOGMGR LU is not added, the session between the ILOGMGR and the
TLOGMGR is established only when the ILOGMGR is started on the host. If the
session fails, the ILOGMGR will have to be stopped and restarted.
If the remote ILOGMGR LU is added, the session between the ILOGMGR and the
TLOGMGR is established when the remote TLOGMGR LU is started, as long as the
ILOGMGR is running.
Multiple Instances of ILOGMGR and TLOGMGR
A single TLOGMGR can communicate with several instances of the ILOGMGR over a
SNAX/APN line.
Multiple instances of the TLOGMGR also can exist within a single SNAX/APN line
handler, and these TLOGMGRs can communicate with one or more instances of the
ILOGMGR.
In addition, multiple instances of the TLOGMGR, each running on a different
SNAX/APN line, or even in a different Tandem system, can communicate with a single
ILOGMGR.
This subsection discusses the configuration rules and restrictions that apply when
multiple instances of TLOGMGR, ILOGMGR, or SNAX/APN lines exist.
Configuration examples are given for the control file and NCP, where special
considerations apply. More general configuration information and examples are included
earlier in this section.
A TLOGMGR Communicating With More Than One ILOGMGR
Over a SNAX/APN Line
Figure 3-1 shows a single TLOGMGR communicating with two instances of the
ILOGMGR over a SNAX/APN line.
