Constraints
The following list of constraints is alphabetically organized by a keyword that describes
the topic. Cross-references are provided for items that need further explanation.
Adapter Support: Token-ring ServerNet adapter (TRSA) is not yet supported.
Applications: Applications must run in processors that have a TCPMON
configured in them.
Customer-Replaceable Units (CRUs): IOMF and PMF CRUs are not supported.
Network File System (NFS): NFS is supported as of G06.12.
Protocol Support: ATM and X.25 and SNAP type subnets are not yet supported.
Security: Only a super-group user can start TCPSAM and TCPMAN from TACL.
SNMP: The Simple Network Management Protocol is supported as of G06.12.
Socket requests: Socket requests for TCPSAM must be in the same node. When
a remote request is received, TCPSAM issues the error:
FEREQUESTUNSUPPORTED (fast ethernet request unsupported).
TCPSAM: TCPSAM must run in a processor with TCPMON configured.
Version Compatibility: The TCPSAM version must match the QIO version.
Compatibility
Parallel Library TCP/IP is binary compatible with D30 and later RVUs of the socket
library.
Parallel Library TCP/IP is based on the most recent standards and functionality of
BSD 4.4 TCP/IP.
TCPSAM does not support pre-D30 socket library requests and issues the error
FEDIALECTUNSUPPORTED when it receives such requests.
