TCP/IP TELNET Management Programming Manual

5 Common Definitions
53474 Tandem Computers Incorporated 5–1
The management-programming interfaces to the TELNET subsystem use definitions
from four sources: SPI standard definitions, EMS standard definitions, data
communications standard definitions, and TELNET subsystem-specific definitions.
Many of the definitions are used in multiple commands, responses, event messages, or
error lists.
This section contains general information that applies to all uses of the common
definitions in the interfaces to the TELNET subsystem. For information about a
definition that is specific to a particular command, response, event message, or error
list, refer to the section that describes that particular item.
All definitions in this section are represented in DDL. Structures, both fixed and
extensible, are defined by using DDL DEF statements. For a brief explanation of DDL
as it applies to SPI, refer to the appendix, “Overview of DDL for SPI” in the Distributed
Systems Management (DSM) Programming Manual. For more detailed information on
DDL, refer to the Data Definition Language (DDL) Reference Manual.
The definitions in this section are listed in alphabetical order within each category.
SPI Standard
Definitions
Definitions whose names begin with ZSPI- are Subsystem Programmatic Interface
(SPI) standard definitions. These definitions are available to all subsystems that
support SPI procedures.
Table 5-1 lists only those SPI standard definitions used in the management-
programming interfaces to the TELNET subsystem. The table does not list SPI error
numbers or definitions used only in error lists associated with those error numbers.
The following SPI definitions apply to the TELNET subsystem:
Header tokens
Simple tokens
Token and field values
Token types
Fixed structures
