This section describes each of the commands and responses in the programmatic
control-and-inquiry interface to the TELNET subsystem. Each description includes the
syntax, object types, command tokens, response tokens, and operational notes
associated with the command. In this section, command numbers, types, tokens, and
their values are represented in DDL. For a brief review of DDL as it applies to SPI,
refer to the appendix “Overview of DDL for SPI” in the Distributed Systems
Management (DSM) Programming Manual.
The commands available in the programmatic interface allow an application to
perform the following functions:
Change the attributes of a TELNET process and windows.
Start and stop the operation of TELNET windows.
Add or remove a window to or from the TELNET subsystem.
Add a set of windows to the TELNET subsystem to provide a class of service.
Obtain attribute values.
Obtain statistical and status information.
Reset the statistics counters.
Obtain information about the object names known to the TELNET subsystem.
Obtain a list of the openers of the TELNET process.
Trace the activity of a TELNET process or window.
Change the system resources used by a TELNET process.
Obtain the version number of the TELNET subsystem.
