DUAL Mode, Ethernet Failover
The IPV6RAENABLE ON attribute enables router advertisements on the SUBNET,
which allows the host to build the global IPv6 address from the router
advertisement (RA) received from the router.
DUAL Mode, Ethernet Failover
Example 1-8 on page 1-16 shows how to configure a DUAL-mode SUBNET
(supporting IPv4 and IPv6 networks) with Ethernet failover, shared IP. This
configuration is shown in Figure 5-3.
This example shows that:
When configuring a SUBNET for DUAL-mode with Ethernet failover, set the
FAMILY attribute to DUAL.
In this ADD SUBNET command, you specify the IPv4 IP address just like you do
for the example without Ethernet failover.
For the IPv6 address, you specify the IPV6INTERFACEID attribute. This attribute
overrides the automatically-generated interface ID with an interface ID that you
specify. The IPv6 address on the SUBNET must share an interface ID with its
associated SUBNET.
The attribute FAILOVER SHAREDIP sets up both the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses on
the SUBNET to use shared IP mode.
